Workshops

Omanye offers dynamic, immersive workshops in traditional West African music and dance, led by master artists with deep roots in Ghanaian cultural traditions. Designed for universities, schools, community centers, and cultural organizations, our workshops are engaging, educational, and tailored to all experience levels.

We offer individual or combined sessions in:

Traditional Dance – Learn the rhythms, movements, and cultural context of Ghanaian dances through direct instruction and live drumming.

Gyil – Explore the techniques and history of the Ghanaian xylophone in hands-on sessions with a master gyil player Kwame “Wadada” Letsa.

Atentenben – Discover the role of traditional Ghanaian bamboo flutes in storytelling and ceremony, with live demonstrations and interactive instruction.

Each workshop is tailored to your group’s needs, whether you want a single-session cultural experience or a multi-day residency. Omanye’s workshops promote not just skill-building, but cross-cultural understanding, teamwork, and joy through music and movement.

Bring the spirit of Ghana to your campus or community.
